Looking for some funding for your music project?? Need help with preparing a grant?
Preparing a detailed, clear and well written funding proposal is a challenging task. After years of spending many hours researching, preparing, writing, acquitting, and assessing grants, I now offer a consultation service to musicians to assist them with this difficult - yet highly important - area of their career!
I consult with musicians from all genres/styles, but have specific interest in those from more niche styles such as Jazz, experimental, world music genres etc.. :)
Depending on the art form and funding proposal I also can assist with applications for dance, theatre, and multidisciplinary art.
How does this work?
1. Contact me to book in a consultation session - this may be in person or via Skype
2. Initial conversations involve project development/clarity and sketching out the content of your funding proposal & budget!
3. You can then book a follow up session to review your completed funding proposal
All of these sessions can be in person (Brisbane) or via Skype if you are further away.
What do I get?
1. My help with all the written content in your actual funding application
2. Advice on the project content, style and quality
3. Assistance in preparing a quality budget
What don't I get?
1. I won't actually write the application for you, I'm assisting you with what/how to write… giving your the skills so you know what to do!… plus helping you know what is and isn't a good idea.
2. Also, I can't guarantee you that you'll be successful in your application. I can help you write the best application you can… but it always comes down to the quality of your proposal against all the others.
Why me?
1. I've written many funding applications and have been fortunate to receive funding from - Arts Queensland, The Australia Council for the Arts, APRA, PPCA, Regional Arts Development Fund, Brisbane City Council, Contemporary Music Touring Program, Soundtravellers…….. I've also assessed many grants for some of these funding bodies.
In short, I'm quite skilled on what you need to do to give yourself the best chance at receiving the grant!
