Jazzmania (Belgium) - The virtuosity of the four musicians is obvious, the same can be said for the voices, the arrangements and some melodies. In the end, the ten songs are a pleasant listen; they don't overwhelm the listener; they simply fit into a well-targeted country, rock, and soul niche. This should delight fans of the genre.

and JAZZFLIT Netherlands:

“Sometimes a CD drops through the letterbox that, as a jazz music reviewer, you really can’t make sense of. This CD Iridescence by Danny Widdicombe & Trichotomy is one of those — but once in the CD player, it surprisingly stuck around for quite a while. The music on Iridescence is an infectious mix of pop with catchy lyrics, beautiful vocal harmonies, and a hint of country; it’s essentially an Australian version of Americana. But where’s the jazz connection, you might ask? The answer is simple: it’s the trio Trichotomy who recorded this CD together with Danny Widdicombe. This Australian trio made a name for itself with symphonic-sounding piano jazz, and its success is evident from the glowing reviews and performances with many guest soloists. That also explains the musical craftsmanship on this CD. The songs are infectiously melodic and sound as if they come from the golden age of pop music — a bit like Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. The collaboration with Danny Widdicombe, a country troubadour from Brisbane, already resulted in the award-winning 2021 album Between The Lines. The CD Iridescence is effectively part two: new songs, same vibe.”
